Hot Guys!

75cross_country_1

For the girls of Wagner 75-80, a discussion of their favorite topic never failed to include the fun, flirtatious, and fine lookin’ Barnhill boys. Since we were all runners on cross country and track, the Pierce sisters got to know them better than most. Rob (’75) took us under his wing when we first arrived at Clark at the beginning of cross country season. However, that didn’t preclude him from making me his slave during Varsity Club initiation! Jon (’76) became one of my best buds and was my all around confidante on all things guy-related. Rex and Elin (both ’78) were good friends and the rest of us picked on the youngest of the Barnhill boys, Jeter (‘79). I still don’t know how their only sister, Ekko, survived growing up with those hell raisers!

Joncc_3_1 This summer, the annual Barnhill family reunion coincided with the Wagner reunion, so they were unable to attend the festivities in San Diego. Jon and Elin, however, had a mini-reunion recently as Jon spent a couple of weeks at Port Hueneme in Ventura County getting ready for his deployment to Iraq. Jon spent an evening in San Diego visiting with Elin & Alyta (‘81), trading stories and catching up on old times. Jon is leading a contingent of 450 sailors to Iraq where they will be in charge of Camp Bucca, a prisoner camp for insurgents. Jon will be sending us regular posts during his time in Iraq, so I’ve set up a new category on this site called Notes from the Middle East for his updates. Those Wagnerites wishing to submit posts to this category as well can contact me. I’m sure Jon (also known as Jack) would love to get email from old friends in the next year, so please drop him a line. And anyone wishing to contact Rob Barnhill can reach him here.

Hot guys and good friends…..the unforgettable Barnhill boys!

What trip to the parade grounds would have been complete during those days without seeing the Barnhills out there have to run laps for their dinner?
